About Marla Craven
I have been capturing images and creating collectible prints for over 20 years. My journey started in the darkroom with black and white photography printed from slides and negatives. Currently all my images are digitally captured. Photography today is an exciting medium for an artist--unlimited in subject matter and creativity. My photography ranges from the flora and fauna of the natural world to the documentary world of people and events. My goal is to provide a unique perspective on whatever subject matter captures my eye. An avid traveler, I enjoy bridging language barriers through the use of instantly visible images. As images are ever present around us, those captured close to home are equally rewarding. My work has appeared in many local and regional shows and I have been fortunate to receive a number of awards. However, the best reward is when a viewer connects emotionally with one of my images. In 2015, ten of my images were selected to hang in the new Tower at PNC skyscraper in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, billed as one of the "greenest skyscrapers ever built."
