This photo shows the turf houses of Glamber Iceland and the parsonage steeple in the background. Turf houses served for hundreds of years as dwellings for settlers in the northern regions of Iceland. Made by stacking layers of sod and connected by interior hallways; they were dark, damp abodes without running water or electricity.
I have been capturing images and creating collectible prints for over 20 years. My journey started in the darkroom with black and white photography printed from slides and negatives. Currently all my images are digitally captured. Photography today is an exciting medium for an artist--unlimited in subject matter and creativity. My photography ranges from the flora and fauna of the natural world to the documentary world of people and events. My goal is to provide a unique perspective on whatever subject matter captures my eye. An avid traveler, I enjoy bridging language barriers through the use of instantly visible images.
